UAS4STEM provides a unique opportunity for students to learn technical skills in the area of uncrewed air systems (drones) and also develop critical professional skills such as teamwork, communication, time management and more. The required ground school provides robust introduction to the scientific principles governing flight, aviation safety, regulatory requirements for operating in the US national airspace and more, preparing eligible students to earn a Part 107 drone operator license. The preliminary competition happens virtually, so you can compete from anywhere! Top teams are invited to compete at the in-person championship for awards and recognition, but there are other benefits as well: students indicate that they feel more prepared to succeed in science, technology, engineering and math.
